This high-frequency data, made available at just 48hrs behind real-time, is a proprietary output from Huq Industries, the leading provider of footfall, mobility, store visit and real economy data to professionals in finance, government, retail and real-estate.
The indicator measured a clear correlation between the rise in mobility and changes in policy as the UK moved through two phases of reopening on 12 April and 17 May.
However, with reports showing increase in infections of more than 50 per cent week-on-week, the indicator also reveals a compelling link between population mobility and rising infections.
With next week’s ‘Freedom Day’ now cast in doubt, Huq’s data measuring footfall in towns and cities will offer a valuable insights into mobility trends across the UK
