As that recovery gains momentum, a new landscape has formed with the presence of both traditional and new forms of business travel. Amid this new landscape, however, there remains mixed consumer sentiment toward business travel as well as a large gap between current volume and pre-pandemic comparables. Cautious optimism in India’s hotel performance recovery

India’s hotel industry turned in a stellar 2022 with revenue per available room (RevPAR) 100% recovered to pre-pandemic levels even with a devastating start to the year caused by a surge in the Omicron variant. Recovery of RevPAR was more driven by average daily rate (ADR), which indexed at 108 when compared with 2019 levels. However, occupancy recovery was strong as well with an index of 93. Overall, the full recovery of RevPAR means indexing won’t be needed much longer as year-over-year percentage changes become actionable again once the calendar is beyond the Omicron comparables.

In its 2018 report on America’s middle class, the Brookings Institution identified the 15 metro areas nationwide – all of them small and mid-size –with the largest shares of middle-class households. Slow Start to Netflix’s Basic-with-Ads Rollout

On Nov 3rd, Netflix launched its lower priced and first ever ad-supported plan at $6.99 per month. Its three other streaming plans are all ad-free; the lowest priced “Basic” plan at $9.99 per month. As of January 31st, 2023, the plan has barely made a dent in the composition of subscribers, according to Earnest’s Orion spend data. The new ad-supported plan constituted 0.46% of total subscribers, slightly up from 0.33% in December, but barely noticeable among its overall streaming plan composition of Premium’s 45% share, Standard’s 43% share, and Basic’s 11% share.

Consumer transaction data shows that in April 2020, combined sales for major meal delivery services grew 162 percent year-over-year and 59 percent compared to the previous month. Despite new macroeconomic challenges such as rising food prices, competition from dine-in restaurants, and increased fuel costs, the meal delivery industry as a whole is continuing to see some growth, though at much lower rates than those pandemic peaks. Our data reveals that in January 2023, sales for major meal delivery services grew 3 percent year-over-year, collectively.
